Merry Christmas all.
One of the sports I really enjoy covering is baseball. Have had the privilege to cover UH, the Hawaii Islanders and the Hawaii Winter League … and when in high school, the San Diego Padres.
Opening night of the HWB in Hilo, hometown of owner and visionary Duane Kurisu, was a lot of fun and fortunately the rain held off for the most part.
MLB.com had an article about the HWL. Brought back some good memories. Enjoyed seeing a very young Ichiro, Aaron Boone, Barry Bonds, Jason Giambi and, at the end, Buster Posey.
