Going 2-1 last week against then-No. 15 Long Beach State has Hawai’i moving up two spots to No. 14 in Tuesday’s AVCA Collegiate Beach Top 20.
The BeachBows (7-5) close out their cameo appearance of a home season this week when hosting No. 6 Cal Poly for duals Friday and Saturday (doubleheader), and a pairs event Sunday, all at Ching.The Mustangs dropped a spot after going 1-1 last week at Stanford, Calif., losing 3-2 to the host Cardinal and beating Cal 3-2.

The BeachBows are 8-4 all-time against Cal Poly, winning the first seven meetings. The Mustangs have gone 4-1 since, UH’s lone victory a 3-0 win in a knockout match of the 2019 NCAA Tournament.
Taking over the No.1 spot is defending NCAA champion UCLA (15-1) leapfrogging with nine first-place votes from No. 4 on the strength of two wins each last week over then-No. 2 Florida State and then-No. 3 LSU. UCLA’s win streak streak is at 14.
Former No. 1 USC (14-2), with six votes, dropped a spot to No. 2, as did Florida State (22-3), with vote to No. 3, and LSU (17-5) to No. 4.
Long Beach State (11-9), the only other Big West team in the poll, fell two places to No. 16..
