BeachBows lose tough one to No. 9 Arizona, clinch dual with UW 3-0

No. 15 Hawai’i lost a close dual with No. 9 Arizona Sunday in Seattle, falling to the Wildcats in a contest where the BeachBows lost the final two flights in three sets.

Hawai’i (13-8) next plays Washington for the third time in as many days. The BeachBows defeated the Huskies 4-1 in the previous two duals during the Husky Invitational.

The dual with the Wildcats (19-4) was tied 1-1 with a 21-16, 18-21, 15-9 victory by Amber Igiede-Brooke Van Sickle at No. 2 and a narrow 23-21, 22-20 loss at No. 4 by Harlee Kekauoha-Sabrina Hardisty.

Arizona won at Flight 3 to take a 2-1 lead. It came down to Flights 1 and 5 where No. 1 Pani Napoleon-Jaime Santer lost the deciding Set 3 15-14 and No. 5 Anna Maidment-Sofia Russo lost Set 3 15-13.
