For BYU (20-4), Gabi Garcia Fernandezaa, the 2020 player of the year, finished his All-American career with 12 kills. But the most lethal server in the NCAA had none on Saturday..

  1. Story of the first set: UH superior serve receive as compared to BYU. BYU out of system a lot. BYU not the same team as we saw in Hawaii last year, at least in this first set.

  2. BTW Cindy, Kevin Barnett shares your view on UH’s vacated title. After Sunderland said how UH had to vacate its title, Barnett chimes in how we all know who won that match (UH) and the asterisk indicating the vacated title was the silliest asterisk.

  3. Gardini couldn’t pass to save his life in set 2. BYU not energized, too many hitting errors, too many reception errors.

  4. Such a deserving win for the Warriors! They’ve worked so hard, bonded so closely and was coached so well! I was on the road most of the afternoon so I had to watch the live stats tick off the numbers. I imagine my yelling at 24-16 on the 3rd match at the Sam’s Gas station in Pearl City was heard by other drivers, lol!
    Congratulations Warriors!
