Drive-by trolley celebration for Warriors Wednesday

 

Athletic department just announced this:

The celebration continues for the University of Hawai’i men’s volleyball team Wednesday with visits scheduled to Washington Place, Honolulu Hale and downtown Honolulu including a trolly ride through the city on their way back to the Mānoa campus.

Due to COVID19 restrictions, the team asks fans not to gather in large groups or present lei. However, fans who live or work along the route are encouraged to look out for the championship trolley and step out to wave and cheer on the team as they drive by.

In the morning, Governor David Ige will hold a proclamation ceremony at Washington Place. From there, the team will head to Honolulu Hale where they will be honored by Mayor Rick Blangiardi and the Honolulu City Council.

At noon, the team will take part in a sign-waving celebration in Downtown Honolulu (corner of Bishop & King). Fans will be able to show their aloha with a honk and dive-by before the team hops back on the championship trolley at 1:00 p.m. to return to campus.

From downtown, the trolley will head to Waikiki via Ala Moana Blvd and include a drive-through at Ala Moana Beach Park. The trolley will then proceed through Waikiki along Kalakaua Ave. and travel mauka on Kapahulu Ave before returning to campus via Waialae Ave. and Dole Street.

9 a.m. – Depart UH campus for Washington Place
9:30 a.m. – Governor Proclamation Ceremony
10:45 a.m. – Depart for Honolulu Hale
11 a.m. – Mayor and City Council to honor team at Honolulu Hale
11:45 a.m. – Depart for Downtown Honolulu
Noon – Honk & Drive-by celebration corner of Bishop and King Streets
1 p.m. – Trolley departs for Mānoa campu

  1. This is terrific! I will be there! I heard that Rado is with the Bulgarian NT in Italy already…. Will all the Bows be there?
