VNL men: Saturday results as Week 2 concludes

On Saturday, the U.S. snapped a two-match losing skid with a weep of Australia, 25-23, 25-20, 25-17.

The U.S. takes a 3-3 record and are in ninth place on points. The Americans open Week 3 play against Iran on June 9.

Coach Speraw switched it up a bit with OHs Matt Anderson and Kyle Ensing being the most effective, Anderson with 12 kills (12-2-18), and Ensing 9 kills (9-3-20)

S Micah Christenson (Kamehameha) had 21 assists, 2 kills (2-0-4), 1 ace, 1 block, 6 digs.

Dustin Watten replaced Erik Shoji (Punahou) at libero, finishing with 7 digs

S Kawika Shoji (‘Iolani) played briefly with 2 assists

MB Taylor Averill (Hawai’i) did not play
