The Big West updated its COVID-19 policies, including allowing each member school to exercise institutional discretion with regard to fan attendance. It appears all Big West schools, except Hawai’i, are allowing attendance in some form.

The BWC Board of Directors also unanimously approved a policy requiring a team to forfeit any scheduled conference games during the 2021-22 competitive seasons if they choose not to compete because they are unable to able to meet Big West competition minimum due to COVID-19. Should a team not meet the minimum threshold of student-athletes required to compete and a forfeit occur, it would be credited with a loss in The Big West standings, with the opponent receiving credit for the win. If neither team meets the minimum due to COVID-19, the game will be declared a no contest. If needed, an unbalanced tiebreaker would be utilized to determine Big West championship seeding.
The Big West also announced that it will broadcast all conference championship events on ESPN+.
Broadcast information on the 2021-22 Big West Men’s Volleyball Presented by Hawaii Tourism and Women’s Water Polo Championships will be announced at a later date.
There is no conference tournament for women’s volleyball (wonder how long that will last), baseball and softball.
______
Not official yet but it appears that Avery Enriques (Kamehameha-Hawaii) will transfer from Grand Canyon to Hawai’i for his senior year. The libero led the Lopes in digs in 2020 when he started 20 matched but had no starts in 2021 and played in 32 of 75 sets, 12 of 20 matches.

Brothers all played or are playing volleyball: Corey (Hawai’i), Evan (Stanford), Emmett (Cal Baptist/CSUN) and Addison (Concordia Irvine).

It would be the second transfer to join the Warriors for 2022. Kyler Presho (son of former Warrior great Mark) is spending his super-senior year at Hawai’i after playing four at Stanford. He is a 6-6 middle.
