Hawai’i at Utah Valley links for Thursday, Texas A&M snaps Cal Poly’s home winning streak

Texas A&M went from Honolulu to San Luis Obispo, rebounding from being swept by the Rainbow Wahine to end Cal Poly’s home winning streak at 32 dating back to  Oct. 28, 2016. It had been the longest active home streak in NCAA Division I women’s volleyball.

The Aggies (2-2) rallied for a 19-25, 29-27, 24-26, 25-20, 15-11 victory over the Mustangs (1-3). It was the first match played in front of fans in Mott Athletics Center in 648 days, dating back to 2019.

Cal Poly next travels to the Utah Classic in Salt Lake City but will not play Hawai’i. The Mustangs and Wahine both will play No. 19 Utah and No. 22 San Diego.

The last time Cal Poly lost at home was in Big West play to UC Santa Barbara, 25-17, 25-23, 26-24. The last time the Mustangs dropped their home opener also was in 2016, this to then-No. 14 Hawai’i, 32-34, 27-25, 25-17, 25-20. Cal Poly had been on the road for the first four weeks of the season (school wasn’t in session) before hosting the Wahine on Sept. 24.

    Do you know if the matches on Friday and Saturday that are streamed via pac12.com (via the links on the UH athletics website, sport specific schedule) are available to ALL customers with Spectrum credentials? Asking for those of us who do NOT have the PAC12 Networks as part of our cable package.
