USC coach Brad Keller came by to chat. Very nice guy. Have known him from his years with both UCLA men and women, and SC men.  Said that 7 of his team had never been to Hawaii before. And that he was very disappointed about there not being fans because “these are the best fans anywhere.” Said he’d like to come out to play here every season.

I asked about how Mia Tuaniga set, a lot like her brother? UH fans didn’t like how Josh got away with the “deep-dish” sets when he was at Long Beach State. Keller said Mia sets a lot like her brother, but a little cleaner.

Outrigger Volleyball Series, Friday

  1. I like De Goede and Kiraly. Kiraly can do the slide and de Goede has an almost childlike fearlessness about her. Will be excited to see them both develop. Still not sure why Wagoner is in the starting lineup. I like her passing but she is an OH and not delivering.

  2. Mia Johnson giving UH some honest swings on the left. This is a young team but I can see flashes of how good they can be if they continue to develop. The setters need to connect better with the hitters.
