Set 4: UH: wins 28-26

9:49: Call stands. UH up 27-26
8:47: UCLA challenging there was a touch on ‘Champlin’s attack. At the moment, UH with second match point at 27-26.
9:42: UCLA up 24-23. TO UH. Bruins serving for set. UCLA subs out their setter.
9:40: Mouchlias with his 21st kill, ties it at 23-23. TO Bruins. Thelle still on serve.
9:32: David blocked, UH closes to 17-16. TO Bruins. Thelle on serve.
9:27: Mouchlias’ service error give UCLA a 15-11 lead at the TTO. Warriors with 13 SEs, UCLA 19.
Set 3: UH wins 25-22
9:10: Thelle with the dump shot. ends it on UH’s second set point

9:02: UCLA has almost erased UH’s four-point lead (20-16). Bruins on a 3-0 run. It’s 20-19. TO UH
8:54: Bruins on a 3-0 run, closes to 15-12. TO Warriors. UCLA targeting Humler on serve.
8:50: Champlin hits long. It’s 15-9 at the TTO. Mouchlias still on serve.
8:45: Impressive service runs by Thelle and now Chakas. Thelle had UH up 7-2 and Chakas, with an ace and Voss putting down a service overpass, has the Warriors p 11-5. TO UClA
8:37: AFter going down 2-0 Hawai’i on a 5-0 run. TO UCLA. 3 consecutive blocks, UCLA hitting error and a kill by Mouchlias. It’s 5-2. Thelle on serve.
8: 33: Humler in for Galloway to start Set 3.
Set 2: UCLA wins 25-21
8:20: As they did in Set 1 Warriors got it to 23-21. But this time UCLA closes it out, 2-0 run, last point on a block of Humler
8:19: Thelle still in the box. Chakas on the overpass and Mouchlias with his first kill of Set 2, 10th of the night. Warriors close to 22-20. TO UCLA.
8:16: Thelle with his 110th ace of his career’ UH closes to 22-18. TO UCLA.
8:13: Hawai’l had closed to 15-13 and 20-16. Bruins on a 2-0 run, last point when Voss hit wide. TO UH
8:05: Warriors had closed to 12-10, 2 points on kill by Humler (subbed in for Galloway) and ace by Chakas. UCLA has run off 3 straight, up 15-10 at the TTO. Kind of surprised Wade didn’t challenge what looked like McHenry’s kill on an overpass. Looked wide from here.

Set 1 UH wins 29-27
7:47: Hawai’i needs five set points to end it, get it on Mouchlias’ ninth kill (9-1-12)
7:40: Warriors come back to tie at 23. kill by Mouchlias, basically an ace by Voss and a net violation on UCLA on Mouchlias’ attack. TO UCLA Voss still on serve
7:37: Hawai’i got it to 21-20 but service error by Chakas and Mouchlias hits wide. It’s 23-20. TO UH.
7:33: Klll by Chakas on a running set by Thelle, David hits wide. UH closes to 19-18. TO Bruins. Akana still on serve.
7:29: Thelle blocked twice during UCLA’s 4-1 run. Bruins up 19-15. TO Warriors
7:24: Galloway blocked. UCLA’s first lead of the set at 15-14 at the TTO. Hawai’i had led 3-0
7:14: UCLA challenging that there is that UH was in the net. It was 6-3 but reversed It’s 5-4.

Hawai’i is going for their 10th title in its 27th appearances. The Warriors have won four of the last five (2016, ’17, ’19, ’20) with an all-time record of 48-28.
UCLA is making its 15th appearance with nine Outrigger titles, most recently in 2014. The Bruins, who have won the title in their last four Outrigger appearances, have a 35-6 mark.
